As we enter the last week of a very busy term, staff and students are continuing to work hard in lessons and the strong focus on students’ progress continues. During the past three weeks, as part of our ‘Exam Ready’ programme, Year 11 students have undertaken mock GCSE examinations in the Sports Hall.
We have been very impressed with the mature manner in which Year 11 have approached the examinations; and their hard work and efforts will be acknowledged with a reward assembly. The students will receive their mock examination results during the afternoon of Friday 10th January 2020. As part of our preparation for Christmas, staff and students have participated in a number of Advent events including College Advent services, a Staff Retreat at Hinsley Hall and the Diocesan Revelation Event. Thank you to staff, students and our families for your generous response to our Advent fund-raising activities.
On a personal note, I have informed the Governing Body that I will be leaving Corpus Christi at the end of the academic year. Earlier this week, I was appointed Head teacher to St John Fisher Catholic High School, Harrogate. Having served the College, as both Principal and Vice Principal, I have mixed emotions; an excitement with regards to the exciting challenge ahead but also sadness at leaving such a special Catholic community. Governors will be informing you of their plans regarding my replacement in the new- year. In the meantime, please be assured that it will be business as usual when we return to College in the New Year. May I take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support for the College and to wish you and your family a happy and peaceful Christmas and best wishes for the New Year. The College will re-open on Monday 6 January 2020 at the usual time of 8.45am. Please note the first week back is a Week B.
