As Easter approaches, we come to the end of another busy, productive and successful term for the college. This half-term the college community has been on its Lenten journey in preparation for Easter. During Lent we have reflected on the importance of prayer, fasting and alms-giving. All year groups have participated in reconciliation services followed by an opportunity to celebrate individual confession. There have also been various opportunities for staff prayer and reflection including Stations of the Cross.
All year groups have been heavily involved in raising money for the annual Good Shepherd Appeal and our designated charities. I am pleased to say that staff, students and their families have, as always, responded generously. Well done to students from all year groups who have participated in this year’s ‘Run to Russia’ fund raising initiative.
Our Year 11 students have just completed their second round of mock examinations. Our Careers Advisor, Miss Finlay, is supporting students with their apprenticeship/college applications and staff are busy supplying references and providing intervention sessions. Please keep our Year 11 students in your thoughts and prayers as we approach this pivotal stage of their college life.
Following the Easter break, the college will re-open Monday 16 April (Week B) at the usual time of 8.45am. Finally, I would like to thank you for your continued support and take this opportunity to wish you and your family a happy Easter.
