As we come to the end of another busy term, I would like to congratulate our staff and students on their many achievements and successes during the past academic year.
Thank you to staff who have overseen the many College events which have taken place during the summer term. These have included the College Eucharistic Procession, Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes, York Retreat, Sports Day, Performing Arts Showcase, Super League Netball Final, ESAA Athletics Cup Final, Sports Awards evening, Duke of Edinburgh expedition, Solutions for The Planet competition, Notre Dame debating competition, Year 6 transition day and Year 11 Leavers Prom at Thorpe Park Hotel. Thank you also to our parents/carers who have supported these College events.
The College has enjoyed another unprecedented year of sporting success across all year groups. We are incredibly proud of the achievements of our Year 7 Girls Rugby League team who recently won the Carnegie Schools National Cup at Victoria park, Warrington – the first ever Leeds school to do so!
Congratulations to our Year 8 boys Rugby League team who also reached the final of the Carnegie Schools National Cup and were very unlucky not to bring the trophy back to Leeds following a very close game against Castleford Academy. The following staff will be leaving us at the end of the summer term. We thank them for all the support which they have provided to our students and the many ways in which they have contributed to the wider life of the college.
- Mrs Mitchell, Vice Principal
- Mrs Coleman, Curriculum Leader for English
- Mr Dandeno, Maths Teacher
- Mr Pidhadjekyi, RE Teacher
- Miss Ratcliffe, Maths Teacher
- Mr Ritchie, PE Teacher
- PC Toes, Safer Schools Police Officer
A warm welcome to Mr O’Doherty who will be joining us as Vice Principal in September. Mr O’Doherty is currently Assistant Head teacher at George Pinder School, Scarborough. We wish all the staff and students who are leaving us good luck for their future and we look forward to welcoming the new staff and Year 7 students who are joining us in September.
Corpus Christi 50th Anniversary
The College community will be celebrating our 50th anniversary during the 2018-2019 academic year. I look forward to informing parents/carers of how we will be celebrating this important milestone in my letter to parents/carers at the start of the new academic year.
Finally, I would like to express my personal thanks for your continued support and I wish you and your family a restful summer break.
