Points of Principal

I would like to take this opportunity to formally welcome parents and carers of students who have joined us this term, especially those of you who are new to the College. This year 187 Year 7 students have made a very successful transition from their primary schools and the College continues to be oversubscribed in all year groups.

We are once again celebrating excellent GCSE examination results which continue our upward five – year trend. The results include some fantastic group and individual outcomes across the full ability range.  82% of subjects were above the national average which contributed to a positive Progress 8 score. English and Mathematics were (again) above the national average;

  • 75 % of students secured a grade 4 or higher in English
  • 77 % of students secured a grade 4 or higher in Mathematics
  • 60 % of students secured a grade 5 or higher in English
  • 57 % of students secured a grade 5 or higher in Mathematics.

We are extremely proud of our students who worked incredibly hard and aspired to achieve the highest grades possible. I would like to pay tribute to our staff, parents and carers, whose relentless determination to ensure every student achieved their personal best paid off. We wish all our former students well for the future – wherever that will take them.

Notre Dame Sixth Form College are also celebrating excellent results, including the success of three former Corpus Christi students who have secured Oxbridge University places.  Congratulations to Grace Scanlon, Omar Valeinis and Michael Heaney and their families on their outstanding achievements.

A Section 48 Diocesan inspection was undertaken at the College on 26th and 27th June 2019. The inspectors made judgements on how effective the College is in providing a Catholic education; and the quality of Religious Education and Collective Worship. We have received the inspection report which states that overall ‘Corpus Christi Catholic College is a good College with some outstanding features’. We are particularly proud that the Catholic Life of the College and provision for Collective worship have both been judged outstanding.

The full inspection report can be downloaded from the College website or is available (on request) from the College Office Manager.
