Careers Info

Introduction

Welcome to Corpus Christi Catholic College Careers. On this page you will find a range of information to support your child on their journey through Corpus Christi Catholic College and towards the wider world of work, further and higher education.

Quality careers education is a very important part of what is offered here at Corpus Christi Catholic College, so that we can raise aspirations and allow our students to make suitable choices for their future career. The Careers Education, Information and Guidance (CEIAG) programme we provide helps our young people to develop the knowledge, confidence and skills that they need to make well informed, carefully considered choices and plans that enable them to progress smoothly into further learning and work, and to help them manage their careers and sustain employability throughout their lives.

Through our progressive careers programme, students are encouraged to make the most of their talents and to move on to education or training that suits their individual needs and preferences. We encourage students to consider a wide range of careers, challenge stereotypes and explore the links between careers and their classroom learning. As part of the CEIAG programme we also offer a variety of trips, workshops, assemblies and guest speakers to raise aspirations for all year groups throughout the academic year alongside our annual careers fair.

Our careers provision aims to:

  • Provide a planned programme of careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) for students of all ages based on the Gatsby Benchmarks and the statutory guidance for Careers Guidance and Access (May 2025) and Skills for Jobs (Jan 2021)
  • Give access to independent and impartial information on opportunities in education, training and labour market information that suit all students
  • Identify and aim to reduce the likelihood, through a variety of interventions, of students becoming NEET (not in employment, education or training) when they leave us
  • Give individualised and impartial careers guidance and support during key transition points
  • Provide progressive and integrated delivery through the whole school curriculum of careers and future skills that incorporates the CDI framework
  • Ensure students have interactions with a variety of colleges, training providers, employers and universities in order to make informed decisions
  • Facilitate experiences of the workplace to develop key employability skills, both in school and during the Year 10 work experience week

Learning Journey for Careers

All documentation is reviewed annually in the summer term. The impact of the careers programme is measured by collecting feedback through different methods from our students, parents & carers, teachers and employers. The next review is due in May 2026.
